Our trip was delayed/revised several times due to COVID which was the only challenge/negative about the whole experience. Their US representative Nandi was incredible at working through our logistical issues, getting the itinerary finalized, and ensuring that we were well prepared for our trip. Once we arrived, movement to and from the airport to our first lodging was smooth. Once there, Adam, the owner in Tanzania met with us, went over all the specifics of our trip, and made us feel even more comfortable and confident that everything would go smoothly.
Ephraim was our guide, and he was flawless. Not only did he excel at finding the animals we wished to see, but just as important to us he had a relaxed attitude, was fun to be around, and it felt like we had known him for years. He also worked his tail off throughout our trip and you could tell he truly cared that we had the best possible experience while in his country.
As for the safari itself, while you can never be assured of seeing every animal you desire, we were lucky to see the entire Big 5, including several prides of lions, multiple groups of elephants, and best of all (for me) , a big male leopard up close. This was in addition to thousands of wildebeest, zebras, gazelle, and plenty of giraffe and hippos. We also spent a day interacting with several local tribes, which was a truly unique and rewarding experience and a perfect compliment to our safari.
As for the lodgings, they were five star. Food was superb, service even better, and beautiful grounds that exceeded our expectations.
Above all, every person we dealt with at Proud African Safaris was amazing. Good people who are working hard to make sure you have an unforgettable experience.
I say this with not a shred of doubt: if you want to go on a Serengeti/Ngorongoro safari, you cannot do better than this company.
